Class #1 - 3 Piece Civil War Soldier - 9.5" Tall with Rifle

Instructor: Ron Davis
Class Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Limit: 8 Students
Class Costs: $35 + Cost of Blank
Ron Davis will instruct on how to carve a 3 piece, 9.5" Civil War Soldier set with rifles. You will choose one style of soldier to carve
A retired airplane mechanic, Ron Davis resides in Fort Worth with wife, Phylis. Ron spends his time carving figures and restoring old cars. Ron is a member of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild.

Class #2 - Funny Egg Faces

Instructor: Betty Davis
Class Days: Wednesday
Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Costs: $20
Betty Davis will instruct on how to carve funny faces into wooden eggs. Betty will furnish egg blanks
Betty is the granddaughter of woodcarver Ron Davis, and has grown up learning everything she knows from him. Betty is a grade school art teacher.

Class #3 - Tuppence Banker Roughout

Class Costs: $35 per day + $15 Blank
Jerry and his wife, Amy, live in Kingsbury, TX, with their two children. Jerry started his carving life, carving architectural details in cement and plaster. Since discovering woodcarving at scout camp with his son, Jerry has become passionate about the art of woodcarving. Jerry enjoys sharing his carving skills using multiple learning techniques to help the student understand the project from different angles.

Class #4 - Humpback Whale with Calf

Instructor: Lance Rath
Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Costs: $30 per day + $40 Blank
Lance will instruct on how to carve a humpback whale, you may choose to carve as is, or you may carve a calf also.
Lance is the new president of Texas woodcarvers guild, he lives in Houston TX, with hisfamily.

Class #5 - Carve a Santa

There will be a painting class on Thursday & Friday with Patty Rucker for those who would like to paint their santa! Class #6 - Painting a Santa

Class Costs: $70
Painting your Santa Carving from Adair's class. All supplies are provided such as; paints, brushes, and water container. Bring good light if you prefer.

Class #7A - Wood Burning

Instructor: Patty Rucker
Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Costs: $35/day + Supplies
The class will start with a demo for students who are new to wood burning. Supplies will be provided for for projects. You will need a wood burner and good light, if needed. A pattern will be copied from booklet with a wide selection of subjects. You will transfer pattern to a panel. Color will be introduced for those who would like to have color in their wood burning projects.

Class #7B - Doll Carving

Instructor: Patty Rucker
Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Costs: $35/day + $35 Blank
Patty will teach a three-day class on carving a doll head and moveable doll joints. You will start on a basic doll blank and work as time allows, using knives and gouges. Patty recommends a thin blade knife for the detailed carving and a light.

Class #8 - Candle Christmas Ornaments

Instructor: John Failor

Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Costs: $35/day + Blank
His family is, Melissa, son John, Jessie the dog and Kreger the Grand-dog. John has been carving since 2008 and entering competition since 2015. John is a member of the Texas Wood Carving Guild. He is an aerospace engineer by trade. John remembers his first introduction to carving was a bus ride home from Boy Scout summer camp and asking an older scout about his neckerchief slide which the scout carved for his merit badge. 38 years later John was a leader at Boy Scout summer camp with his son. John was drawn to classes for carving for a merit badge. Carving has grown into John’s personal hobby ever since. Now he plans family vacations around carving shows and seminars for classes. Now John’s favorite type of carving projects are neckerchief slides and carving in the round of people and characters. John’s advice to new carvers is to become involved in a carving group and take instructional classes as soon as you can. This will grow your knowledge and be a lot more fun about the subjects you carve. John enjoys competing in carving shows. After his entries have competed for a season any carving and its ribbon is given away as gifts to Scouts making Eagle or to Scout Volunteers who have distinguished themselves.

Class #9 - Basic Carving

Instructor: Joe Gallio

Class Limit: 6 Students
Class Costs: $20 + $5 Blank
Joe will teach 2 - 1 Day Classes. How to carve boot on Monday & an dog on Tuesday. Joe will supply the wood carving tools & saftey glove. The class is $20 per day + $5 per blank. The class is limited to 6 studetns only. (If you have a carving knife or tools bring them!)
Joe teaches begin wood carving at the Woodcraft store in Austin, TX. He was an officer of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild.

Class #10 - 6" Tall Angel

Instructor: Joe Perkins

Class #11 - Watercolor

Instructor: Rhonda Smith
Class Days: Wednesday, Thursday
Class Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Class Costs: $90 + $10 for supplies
Are you interested in working with watercolor but not sure how to get started? In this class Rhonda will introduce you to watercolor and its properties. This class is perfect for beginners looking to learn the basics in this comprehensive two-day class. By the end of this class, you will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to experience watercolor on your own. In this class you will learn: the different attributes of watercolors, what brushes and paper to use with this medium and how to begin painting pictures. One on one attention will be given to all students.

Class #12 - Photo Realistic Colored Pencil

Go from Beginner to WOW! This workshop blends demos with guided instruction to create photo realistic results in colored pencil. Whether you have little or no artistic ability this workshop will help you masterfully use this medium. Choosing the right substrate, basic design principles, different techniques in application, and how to blend colored pencils. One on one help is offered to all students.
The fee for this class is $100 and $10 supply fee.

Jimmy has been carving for 50+ years. He and his wife Marion live in Midland, TX. He is a memeber on the Texas woodcarvers Guild. Jimmy has judge numerous previous woodcaving shows and will be the judge for this years Three Rivers Carving Rally.
