OPEN INTERMEDIATE: (no roughouts, class or mentor pieces in 1-30)
1. Realistic Human – group, single or bust – any finish
2. Caricature Human – single or bust – any finish
3. Realistic Animal – single or group – any finish
4. Caricature Animal – single or group – any finish
5. Realistic Marine Life – frog, etc. – any finish
6. Realistic Fish and fish group – any finish
7. Realistic Birds – songbirds single or group 
8. Realistic or Gamebirds – single or group
9. Realistic Birds of Prey – single or group 
10. Realistic Waterfowl and Shorebirds– single or group
11. Stylized any subject, single or group – natural finish
12. Realistic any religious subject including angels
13. Santa’s Coca – Cola or old world – single or group
14. Holiday – thanksgiving, christmas, snow people, easter, etc – any finish – No Santas
15. Mythical – elves, dragons, etc. – any finish
16. Found wood – driftwood, cypress knees, logs, etc. – any finish
17. Found wood – relief style any subject or finish

Novice/Beginner: (a person who has not carved over one year. Roughouts maybe used in 33-40)

38. Relief High or Low – any subject – any finish

Woodturning or scroll saw:
41. Turned items such as vases, bowls, etc.
42. Segmented with different woods including carved turnings
43. Turned pens – single or group, also letter openers
44. Scroll saw-pictures, fretwork or items cut & assembled to provide a decorative piece, toys
45. Turned / Scroll – Miscellaneous any pieces that did not fit in category above
