Working with the Air Force, the Air National Guard and American Airlines.
His love for working with wood began in a high school shop class. Making neckerchief sliders was a starter but soon led to more ambitious projects. He joined the Eastern Oklahoma Woodcarvers Association in 1974 and has been active in promoting woodcarving ever since. He has taken woodcarving classes from a number of master carver's and has become a woodcarving teacher.  Annually he has traveled to woodcarving shows around the country and has won numerous awards for his carvings. He also became a skilled judge of woodcarving and has judged woodcarving shows throughout the midwest. He likes to try different kinds of wood, including domestic and imported.  His favorite saying is "I'll try any kind of wood once."
